From the very beginning of the 20th century, the English company Velocette has been manufacturing motorcycles: single-cylinder, as well as two-cylinder boxer two-and four-stroke ones.
They could not survive the crisis of European motor industry in the mid-60s of the XX century, but they stayed afloat longer than many - until 1971.
In 1905, John Taylor and his partner William Gue use the name Veloce for Taylor's first motorcycle, Gue Ltd. Later that year, John will open his own motorcycle and parts company.
In 1906, the mass production of the Veloce 2 H.P. motorcycle began.
In 1907, John's sons (Percy and Eugene) created New Veloce Motors and Veloce Motor Car.
In 1914, Velocette came out in a single-speed version with a belt drive and a two-speed gearbox and chain drive. For some motorcycle models, a stroller could be ordered.
