In 1950, the production of DKW RT 125 motorcycles, which were produced even before the war, was restored here.
Since 1952, the production company began to bear a new name - VEB Motorradwerk Zschopau.
Just four years later, in 1956, motorcycles under the MZ trademark began to roll off the assembly line.
After the unification of Germany, the plant was unprofitable.
In 1996, the Malaysian concern became the owner of the enterprise.
In 1999, it was acquired by two motorcycle racers. Unfortunately, this did not help restore its past popularity.
In 2013, production was finally stopped.
