MAICO was founded in 1926.
MAICO - a German company, during its heyday, produced reliable and powerful motorcycles. MAICO's major successes were in the 500cc class.
MAICO cross-country motorcycles were among the most beautiful. Chopped forms and bright coloring, still attract the attention of collectors and lovers of the classics.
These weren’t the most technical equipped motorcycles, but for a long time, a relatively small European company could compete with KTM, Husqvarna, Yamaha, Honda and other major motorcycle manufacturers.
But illiterate management, poor-quality spare parts, in the later periods of the company's existence, as well as a lag in technology, played a role, and by the end of the 80s MAICO declared itself bankrupt.
MAICO re-lauched in 2013.
